My life is now as good as it once was

So I got invited to Forestdale for the weekend. She told me her mom invited me. I'm thinking this was her idea and her mom went along with it. In any case, despite my fears and the lack of the US Marines, I went. And Survived. And I got her back. The road ahead is far from smooth, I know there's a lot we have to go through. But at least we're going down the road together. And I couldn't be happier.

A Dream

She came to me in another dream the other night. We met on the southside. Her mom was with us. The plan was to catch the trolley to the courthouse. We went into Raymond's and I bought us all a coke. We got on the trolley. And I woke up.

A Dream. The City's new Kenworths. And some other interesting things.

She was in my dreams last night. She had either snuck out to see me (shocker) or the evil one had let her out (another shocker). I didn't care one way or the other. We drove around the city generally having a good time. Only God knows what that means.

I had seen a couple over the past few weeks. I saw one that I'll be glad when I can get a picture of it. The city of Birmingham has started buying Kenworths rather than Internationals. Here's two from Streets and Sanitation I snapped behind the Municipal Garage yesterday.

And I have noticed that something is really wrong. I don't know what, but it is.

Latest happenings and a new mayor

Ok so I finally bought a vehicle. I got a 1997 Isuzu Rodeo. It's black and its an old beater, and I have to go Monday and buy a tag and a starter for it, but it aint bad for $700. I think I'm falling for someone again, and I hope this time it means something real. In other news, William Bell won the election and is on the job on 3rd floor City Hall. Hopefully the citizens of Birmingham made the right choice.

Number 13

The last time Alabama won the National Championship I was not yet five. I can only remember Gene Stallings smiling on the fuzzy television in our living room in Birmingport.
Now, I’m going on 23 and I couldn’t be more elated. Over the past eighteen years I’ve watched the Tide go through scandals, terrible seasons, and numerous coaches.
Three years ago Nick Saban arrived at Birmingham International and every Tide fan, including myself, somehow knew he was going to be our savior. It was said then that he very well could be the new Bear Bryant. Obviously we were right.
For a man to come in to what was the most awful team in the nation and turn it around and win the Tide’s thirteenth crystal pigskin is a feat I’ve never before witnessed and probably never will again. I have said it to myself many a time and I feel it is safe and less blasphemous to say it aloud and in public now. If Bear Bryant was Alabama’s football god, then Nick Saban is our messiah.
This is not something you see every day. This is not a dream. This is real. For many years 12 has been a symbolic number at Bryant-Denny. Now 13 is the magic number.
This is our future. This is our legacy. This is our present. This is our future. We are the Alabama Crimson Tide and no one in the world is better than us.

One stupid fuck.

I guess I should have seen this coming. I forgot to tie up a loose end and it wound up becoming a noose. So now instead of being with the one I really like I'm all alone and I am one stupid fuck.
